Kroening, Brett (ASCAP)
Before coming to Austin, Texas, Brett Kroening studied Music Performance as well as Music Theory and Composition in Colorado and New Mexico, completing his undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico under Susie Fritts. In Austin since 2007, Brett has worked as a freelance horn player, private teacher, composer and music arranger. In the fall of 2007, Brett was the Teaching Assistant for the UT horn studio under Professor Patrick Hughes at the University of Texas at Austin.
Active in composition, arranging as well as performance, Brett has participated in master classes with Bruce Adolphe, Dan Perantoni, Sam Pilafian, George Crumb, American Horn Quartet and Michael Colgrass as well as performed with the Austin Symphony, Austin Pops, Amarillo Symphony, New Mexico Symphony, San Juan Symphony (CO), Mid-Texas Symphony and the San Antonio Symphony.
Currently, Brett is the Performance Librarian for for the UT Austin, Butler School of Music and is 3rd horn for the Round Rock Symphony Orchestra. Brett is also a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
