Lausten, Douglas
Douglas Laustsen is a composer and trombonist as well as an occasional radio host and music blogger. In 2011 he co-founded the music ensemble Beta Test which presents a combination of contemporary classical works alongside the music of classic video games, film, and television shows. The group has played a number of his pieces, and he is the group's trombonist. His radio show Endless Possibilities can be heard on WRSU-FM and presents a wide variety of music ranging from classical to jazz to indie rock. He also writes on a variety of topics on his radio show's website and in a handful of other settings. Musically he is most interested in re-contextualizing ideas into wildly different worlds. He can be convinced into almost anything as long as artisan coffee is involved.Joined the NewMusicShelf: 28 May 2011
